About Andy Hurst:
Since November 2007, Andy Hurst has served as the backup announcer at KUOW. That means he can be heard just about everywhere on the radio schedule: middays, evenings and weekends; during "All Things Considered," "Morning Edition" and "The Swing Years." When he's not on the air, he lends a hand to the production staff of "The Conversation."
Andy joined the station in 2006 as an announcer for KUOW's second program service, 91.7 KUOW2. Before that he was the local host for "Weekend Edition" at Northwest Public Radio in Pullman, Washington.
Andy started in radio as an overnight DJ at KZUU, the underappreciated and incredibly eclectic college radio station of Washington State University. At KZUU he served as music director and general manager.
He's a Seattle area native and a graduate of Washington State University.
