Edith Mirante

Artist, activist, and author Edith Mirante has testified on Burma before the U.S. Congress. Her work has appeared in publications like The New York Times and in encyclopedias. She heads the Burma human rights group, Project Maje. In her latest book, Down the Rat Hole: Adventures Underground Burma, Mirante takes readers with her on many harrowing experiences working with the Burmese rebels. Edith Mirante spoke at Elliott Bay Book Company on August 8th, 2005 at an event co-sponsored by the Seattle Burma Roundtable.
