Gary Hart on September 11th: Five Years After

Steve Scher
09/11/2006 at 10:00 a.m.

Just months before September 11th, 2001, Gary Hart and the U.S. Commission on National Security called for reforms to prevent a major terrorist attack. The report was ignored. Former U.S. Senator Hart joins us today to talk about the September 11th attacks, five years later. We'll also ask Hart about topics ranging from Iraq to the environment.

Gary Hart is a former U.S. Senator from Colorado who co-chairs the U.S. Commission on National Security for the 21st Century with Warren Rudman. He's the author of a new book, The Courage of Our Convictions: A Manifesto for Democrats.
