Power Of Voice

StoryCorps

10/16/2006

A daughter asks her mother about growing up on the wrong side of the tracks in Mississippi. A father tells the funniest stories about his interracial marriage. Grandpa remembers the love of his life, Grandma Marge. StoryCorps is an oral history project based on the idea that the stories of everyday people are the most important and interesting of all. Traveling studios, or Mobilebooths, are venturing across the country. Tonight, hear stories told right here in the Northwest. These stories came from interviews at the Mobilebooth that visited Seattle Center last fall. We'll also hear a few stories from other parts of the country. Hear about immigrating to the United States, Hurricane Katrina, and an Indian/American marriage.
