1. Financial Literacy
No checking account, no future, say money managers. It's why local agencies that cater to the poor are starting to offer or require classes on how to open bank accounts, manage a budget, and even start saving for the future. Financial literacy graduates move up the economic ladder more easily by using traditional banking services instead of dealing only with cash or relying on payday lending companies that charge exorbitant fees.

2. Doctor Michio Kaku's Commentary on Teleportation
Teleportation is usually the subject of science fiction and fantasy, but in the last few years, especially the last few months, breakthroughs have been made in the laboratory. The world's record for teleporting a photon of light was broken last year, and physicists can teleport photons about 100 miles. It may take centuries to be able to teleport a human. But all this raises philosophical and religious implications, because what happens to the soul if we are teleported?

3. Does Money Buy Happiness?
It's conventional wisdom that money buys happiness, but only up to a certain point. But new research challenges this view. What's been your experience?

4. Archbishop Desmond Tutu
Archbishop Desmond Tutu is a Nobel Peace Laureate, international peacemaker, human rights crusader, and a delightful man with an easy laugh. He visited Seattle this week to share the stage with the Dalai Lama. Archbishop Tutu granted just one interview during his visit, to Steve Scher and Weekday. He shares an ecumenical prayer and his interfaith vision. He also speaks about the human capacity for extreme evil and compassion, LGBT rights in the Anglican Church, the value of nonviolence (and why he's not a pacifist), and the power of laughter.
