What's going to happen when the Gen X'ers take over the world? Gen X is the term given to people from their early 30's to their early 40's. They used to be labeled slackers. What are they now? Do you consider yourself a member of Gen X? Is there an identifiable Gen X cohort? Where do you see Gen X taking us in the future? And the most important question of all: Is the X'er anthem "Loser" or "Smells Like Teen Spirit"? We'll talk to journalist Lisa Chamberlain, author of "Slackonomics: Generation X In The Age of Creative Destruction."
Also today, the time paradox. Our concept of time is largely learned. Psychologist John Boyd says we can change our learned notions of time and live better.
Lisa Chamberlain is a regular contributor to The New York Times and other publications; and is the Executive Director of the Forum for Urban Design. Her latest book is "Slackonomics: Generation X In The Age of Creative Destruction."
John Boyd, Ph.D., received his doctorate in psychology from Stanford University. His professional experience includes director of scientific affairs at Alertness Solutions, director of research at Yahoo!, and, currently, research manager at Google. He lives in Dublin, California.
