Alva Noe and Why You Are Not Your Brain

Steve Scher
04/06/2009 at 9:00 a.m.

The act of consciousness is more than an intricate web of neurons firing in our brain. That's what Alva Noe thinks. He's the author of the new book "Out of our Heads: Why You Are Not your Brain and Other Lessons from the Biology of Consciousness." Consciousness is something that we do, he argues, not something that we have. Join us this hour as we talk about neuroscience and the self, today on Weekday.
