Christopher Hitchens on The Trial of Henry Kissinger

KUOW's program director Jeff Hansen interviews Christopher Hitchens, author of a new book, The Trial of Henry Kissinger, (Verso).

Hitchens, a columnist for Vanity Fair and The Nation, makes the claim that Kissinger has, among other things, committed crimes against humanity and treason, and should be put on trial. Hitchens claims that Kissinger participated in what he calls, the "single wickedest act in the history of the republic", that is, in the fall of 1968, Richard Nixon and some of his emissaries and underlings set out to sabotage the Paris peace negotiations on Vietnam, and with Kissinger's collaboration, succeeded, thereby prolonging the war.
