Charles Baker And The Power Of Snoqualmie Falls

Dave Beck

If you go to Snoqualmie Falls you're struck by the mists that rise from the waters. Those mists are generated by the water falling down the Snoqualmie River 270 feet into the pool below. The falls are so powerful that Native Americans said the mists generated by the falls carried prayers from the people to the creator. What you don't see at Snoqualmie Falls is a massive hydroelectric power generator run by Puget Sound Energy. KUOW's Dave Beck spoke with Seattle Filmmaker Stephen Sadis about a little known pioneer of hydroelectric power.
