Former Poet Laureate Billy Collins

Billy Collins has been dubbed the class clown in the schoolhouse of American poetry. His poems are often humorous, accessible and poke fun at everything, including himself. Poetry snobs might stick up their noses at such things, but do poems always have to be difficult? Billy Collins breaks quite a few poetry stereotypes. He's been rumored to get six–figure advances from publishers. His books of poetry often top bestseller lists. Former Poet Laureate Billy Collins joins KUOW's Steve Scher to talk about the art of poetry.
