One of the biggest practical challenges to implementing the new health care law is a shortage of primary care physicians. Could nurses pick up the slack? Nurse practitioners often see the patient first. Sometime they diagnose and prescribe medication before a doctor even arrives. Can nurses fill the gap in primary care coverage?
