New FDA Cigarette Warnings: Will They Work?

Guy Nelson

The FDA has released new graphic warnings for cigarette packages. They're the first new labels in more than two decades. The new warnings depict the negative health impact of cigarettes and are required to cover at least 50 percent of every pack of cigarettes sold in the US by mid–2013. Have you seen the images? Would they deter you from smoking? What would be the best way to get people to quit smoking, or not to start in the first place?
