Jana's True Colors
Twenty–five years ago, Jana Harris fell in a love with a horse at first sight. She was a beautiful, calm Thoroughbred mare named True Colors. She bought her and started dreaming about how perfect True Colors would be — for having foals and, most of all, for riding. But when Jana's "perfect horse" was finally delivered to the ranch, the white marking on her face was obscured by bloody sores — and she was terrified of humans and confined spaces. Jana spent years trying to make True Colors into the riding horse she'd dreamed of. But when she was finally forced to let go of her dream, True Colors became much more than an animal to ride. Jana talks with KUOW's Jeannie Yandel.
