America's Military Under General David Petraeus

'All In' With Paula Broadwell: General David Petraeus had a 37–year career in the Army before becoming director of the C.I.A. in September, 2011. He commanded US military operations in Afghanistan and led US and coalition forces in Iraq, where the Petraeus Doctrine of counterinsurgency was often credited for turning the war around. How has David Petraeus influenced America's fighting forces? What lessons does his long military service hold for his leadership of America's intelligence agency?

King County Executive Dow Constantine and Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn hold a news conference this afternoon to announce a proposal to build a third professional sports arena in SoDo that could bring the NBA back to Seattle. Interracial Marriage Is On The Rise: A newly released Pew research study finds 1 in 12 marriages are between interracial couples. That's 4.8 million couples, an all–time high for America. While Hispanics and Asians remain the most likely to marry interracially, the black population experienced the largest percentage increase. Do you think interracial marriage changes our society for the better? Three in five 18– to 29–year olds do. Did you marry someone of a different race? How did family and friends react? Paula Broadwell is a research associate at Harvard University's Center for Public Leadership and a Ph.D. candidate in the department of war studies at King's College, London. She worked as an embedded author in Afghanistan to research her new book, "All In: The Education Of David Petraeus."
