District 10: A Profile Of Denny Heck
Washington state picked up a seat in Congress thanks to the 2010 census. The new 10th District covers parts of Thurston, Pierce and Mason counties. Six people are running to represent the 10th.
In order to get a better understanding of the candidates, KUOW has asked each one to take us to a place that is important to them; a place that best captures the issues significant to the new 10th District.
Today we hear from Denny Heck. Heck is a former Democratic state representative who served as House majority leader and later as chief of staff to Governor Booth Gardner.
He's also the co–founder of TVW, the statewide public affairs network.
Our producer Jason Pagano met up with him next to the Thorne Lane overpass at Exit 123 off Interstate 5.
