Remembering KOMO's Kathi Goertzen: We remember longtime KOMO anchor Kathi Goertzen who passed away on Monday at age 54 after years of battling recurring brain tumors. All through her illness, she publicly shared her struggles and victories of the last 14 years. We reflect on her career with KOMO's Steve Pool.

The Joys And Challenges Of Nature Photography: Seattle's famed wildlife photographer Paul Bannick captured a photo of a snowy owl that recently won a Canon award. Bannick joins us to talk about the challenges of photographing owls, Washington's wildlife conservation efforts, and what it's like to watch nature for hours.

Paul Bannick is a wildlife photographer specializing in the natural history of North America with a focus on birds and habitat. He is the director of development for Conservation Northwest, and the author of the "The Owl And The Woodpecker."

Maria Semple has written for television for "Arrested Development," "Ellen," "Mad About You" and "Beverly Hills 90210." Her writing has also appeared in The New Yorker. "Where'd You Go, Bernadette?" is her second novel. She lives in Seattle.

Steve Duno has trained thousands of dogs and a good number of cats. He is the author of 18 books. His latest is "Last Dog On The Hill: The Extraordinary Life of Lou."

Michael Fagin is with West Coast Weather LLC. His blog, Fagin's Weather World, suggests good hikes to match the weekend weather forecast.
