Sounds Familiar: Chopin's 'Funeral March'
Amanda Wilde is the host of "The Swing Years and Beyond" on KUOW, and she likes to delve into the history behind songs that sound familiar. She got the idea of looking into Chopin's "Funeral March" after listening to a newscast about an Egyptian funeral that took place this summer. Since it first appeared in the early 19th century, Chopin's famous march has found its way into movies, cartoons, funk and hip–hop music. Amanda Wilde speaks with KUOW's Dave Beck.
